SIE Scholarship & Exam Overview
The Securities Industry Essentials® (SIE®) exam is a FINRA introductory-level exam for prospective finance professionals. It assesses fundamental knowledge of the securities industry, including basic products, risks, and regulatory structures. Passing this exam is a critical first step toward becoming a registered representative and demonstrates industry readiness to recruiters. View the full exam overview here.
Award Details
- Full reimbursement of SIE exam registration fees upon providing proof of a passing score.

Guidelines
- Applicants must be active FMA chapter members in good standing with the Texas State chapter.
- Commit to studying for the SIE during winter break (2025) before the 2026 spring semester begins.
- Candidates are expected to maintain professional standards and represent FMA positively during the testing process.
- Take exam by the beginning of the Spring 2026 semester.
- Payment will only be dispersed after results are sent to - esr63@txstate.edu
- Scholarship will be revoked and offered to another FMA member if not taken by date above.
- If a student fails the first exam they must contact -ecq12@txstate.edu to define next steps.
